Final Project
Due Date: All materials must be uploaded to your folder by the end of the 3rd block exam period on Wed. June 7.
Based on the success of your Midterm lesson plans, and the comprehensive work and learning you have done with your portfolios this year, your final will be a curriculum extension of the work you have completed in your portfolio and on the midterm. In short: this is part 2 of your midterm, with a heavy emphasis on your individual knowledge and material creations.
Purpose
You will further your role as an educator by using materials that you have created for your portfolio this year - including but not limited to cases, card files, speeches, pieces, bills, and recordings - to expand on the lesson planning you have started in 1 of 2 ways.
Option 1 - Lesson for a new Unit
Following the template and instructions from the midterm, you will construct a lesson based on an event unit that you did NOT do for your midterm.
For this final lesson, you may only use materials that you have personally worked on and created for your portfolio this year. No outside guides, resources (including cut cards or cases that you traded for during the year), or videos are permitted.
If you need to create NEW resources for this final you may do so.
This option is designed for students who want to display content knowledge in multiple events or build off materials you have developed for an alternative portfolio.
Option 2 - Lesson Extension
In your midterm you were asked to account for how you would extend the skills or content taught in your lesson to further lessons. With that idea is a starting point, you will create the next lesson in your unit by following the template and instructions from the midterm.
For this final lesson, you may only use materials that you have personally worked on and created for your portfolio this year. No outside guides, resources (including cut cards or cases that you traded for during the year), or videos are permitted.
If you need to create NEW resources for this final you may do so.
This option is designed for students who worked intensively this year on event portfolios centered around a single event or area.
